WHY is putting toothpaste on a pimple so effective?

i heard it was a good remedy, and i woke up with one this morning. i tried putting toothpaste on and around it for a few minutes, and its been an hour now, and its shrunk!

it%26#039;s literally smaller, less red, and less noticeable.

why is it so effective? i%26#039;ve tried 10% benzoyl peroxide and it takes many hours to work. why did the toothpaste take only an hour? and why did it work in the first place? there must be some chemical reason for this.|||Well actually there is two main reasons. The tooth paste contanais mainly to ingredients. High ionic detergent concentrations(soap and minerals) and essential oils (menthol, alcanfor, etc)

The high detergent concentration over the blister helps to dry it out in a process call osmosis. This means that all the water inside the pimple is sucked out by the salts.

The essencial oils, gives you a relief sensantion because absorbs the heat formed by the inflamation of the tisse, and cool down the inflamatory process.

Beware: if the tissue is open, you increase the risk of infection if you add any substances or device, unless is water and plain soap.|||It%26#039;s because of the Menthol in the toothpaste, it helps dry it out.|||does it really do that
